Faculty development program (FDP) has been designed to organically deal with the rapid changes in medical education and cope with the paradigm shifts of health care delivery system and clinical practice. Ongoing continued training is helping teachers improve their teaching skills, design improved curricula, and enhance the organizational climate for education and plan collaborative educational research. It is time to shift the philosophy about faculty development and to embrace a broader view from one-time training to ongoing professional development and from classroom to workplace activities.
