Students Council Activities (2022-2023)

FUSION 2022 – National level intercollegiate sports and cultural festivals

Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) hosted the “FUSION 2022” National level intercollegiate sports and cultural festivals from October 5th to October 13th, 2022. The function was kicked off by the Home Secretary. Dr. J Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary for Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Tamil Nadu, delivered the keynote presentation, emphasized the importance of student sports dedication. The winners received various attractive prizes at the end of the competition. The valedictory ceremony commenced at 7:00 p.m. Prof. Dr. Shantha Ravisankar, Vice Chancellor of CARE, and Dr. Sridhar, Dean of CHRI, were present at the finale and presented the winners with certificates, gifts, and medals. The competition was represented by 35 colleges. Chettinad Academy of Research and Education was awarded the overall sports competition. The overall sports runners-up were Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. The accommodation for the players, managers, coaches, and umpires was provided at no charge to them. During the competition, food was provided at no cost to all Technical Officials, Umpires, and Volunteers. The Tournament was organized by Dr. G. Kirubalan, Deputy Director, Physical Education.

Farewell function- Physiotherapy Students

Farewell Function of B.P.T (2019) and M.P.T(2021) was started at 09.00am on July 31, 2023 in Lecture Hall 5 which is organised by B.P.T (2020). The Master of ceremony of the programme Ms. Vaishnavi and Ms. Thrisha S.C welcomed Chief Guest Dr. Senthil. P, Dean, Chettinad School of Physiotherapy, CARE and all dignitaries. He explained the dilemmas which would be a barrier to the Physiotherapy profession how the students should prepare themselves for their future endeavors and wished them with his motivational speech, followed by fun games which were conducted by the juniors to the seniors such as Dance, Connections, finding a song from music and gifts exchange etc. Farewell is basically a get to gather kind of celebration for the seniors who will be soon steeping out of that particular institute. Hence juniors wish their seniors a good luck for their next big adventures in various forms like singing, dancing, with motivational speeches or by felicitating them. Later the final year students were asked to give their opinions about the institution and the staffs.

Students Council Activities (2021-2022)

Onam Celebrations
The student council commemorated Onam celebration on 19.08.2021 at the Futsal Ground in the campus. The state of Kerala, Onam is traditionally celebrated for ten days in the month of Chingam, which marks the beginning of the Malayalam Calendar year. The festival was celebrated at CARE in its usual fervor and grandeur organized by Dr. Ahmed Basha. A, Professor, Dept. of Physiology, CHRI and Dr. Kirubalan, Sports Director, CARE. The Celebrations were marked by a diverse range of colourful and joyful events and games with the full participation of the Students, Staff and faculty members of CARE beautifully dressed up in traditional attire bringing the spirit and beauty of Onam to the campus. We arranged delicious Pradhaman Payasam, which is a traditional special dish for the Kerala people.

Farewell 2021 for nursing students
The program began with Tamizhthai vaazhthu, followed by Ms. Keerthana, 3rd year B.Sc Nursing delivered welcome address and the entertainment event began with welcome dance by Ms. Abitha and Ms.Shelciya Devakirubai, B.Sc Nursing, 3rd year, performed a very fantastic group dance. The Principal Dr. Hepsibah Sharmil.S, Madam, delivered the keynote address and motivated the students for their best future, followed by Prof. Ms.Subbulakshmi, Vice Principal delivered the special address and encouraged the final year students for their bright future. Ms. Ruksana Begam, Associate Professor and Ms.Sathya, Assistant Professor, Class Coordinators of B.Sc and Post Basic Nursing given feedback about the students. Followed by this, all the entertainment events started and the final year students given their feedback , followed by that, the Chettinad College of Nursing song has been sang and then to bring back the final years a collective sweet memories at the virtual video clips of final year students has been played. Finally, Mr. Jayasuriya, B.Sc nursing, 3rd year delivered the vote of thanks followed by National anthem was played and the program was ended with lots of joy and emotion. The overall program was mastered by Mr. Naraendraprasath and Ms.Jebamalar, B.Sc Nursing 3rd year students.

Teachers day
Teachers’ Day celebration was commemorated by Chettinad Academy of Research and Education on 06.09.21 at the Sigapi Aachi auditorium of the campus. The faculty from all schools and colleges of CARE along with the students attended the program. The event was presided over by Dr. Balasubramanian, Vice-Chancellor, CARE and Mrs. Jeyendra Saraswathi, Registrar, CARE. Dr. Pitchai Balashanmugam, Dean, CHRI were present during the occasion. The students from all colleges and schools wished their teachers on ‘my favorite teacher’ event. An interesting quiz competition was conducted for the faculty and fun games were played. This was followed by a talent show that included singing and dancing performance by the Students and faculty. The program ended with a vote of thanks and refreshments.

Dandiya night
Dandiya Night celebration was organized at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education in our campus on 12.10.2021. The celebration was full of dance, talent shows, DJ, food, music and fun. Students of all the constituent colleges of CARE participated in the event. The event was filled with diverse range of colourful dresses by the students and filled with full of energy. The students rocking dance performances western, fusion and kuthu styles. The kollattam dance was the highlight of the programme. More than 300 students danced with kollattam. The scintillating dancers expressed their talent on the stage and the impromptu dance performance off stage by other students made the event fun filled. Lip-smacking food including chat, snacks, sweets and lavish dinner was an additional highlight.

Chettinad Intra Collegiate Athletics Championship
Chettinad Intra Collegiate Athletic Championship 2021-22 was held at Synthetic track, Sarvalokaa school campus. The Athletic Meet was held on 24th & 25th February 2022 between 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Prof. Dr. Balasubramanian, Former Vice Chancellor of Chettinad Academy of Research & Education has inaugurated the Tournament and Ms. Ruchi, HOD in CSOL and Dr. Ebenezer, Principal of FAHS has graced the occasion. Dr. Shantha Ravisankar, Vice Chancellor of Chettinad Academy of Research & Education was the Chief Guest and she distributed the prizes, Trophies, Medals and certificates to the winners. There were 250 Students from different departments participated in the athletic championship. Chettinad College of Nursing has bagged overall athletic Championship winners. Mr. Magesh from the FAHS student was announced to be the athletic individual champion for the men section. Ms. Shanthi Priya from the FAHS student was announced to be the athletic individual champion for the women section. Dr. G. Kirubalan, Dy. Director of CARE and Chettinad School of Law students jointly to organized the Tournament.

CARE Classical Chess Championship -2021-22
CARE Classical Chess Championship, organized by the student council was held at Atrium, College block held on 16th June, 2022. It was held between 12 teams from various constitution colleges. It was a league tournament where the various intra CHC Students has participated The event was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar, Vice Principal, CHRI These are the respective winners of the Tournament Winners of the tournament – Law / AHS team Runners-up of the tournament – MBBS team Dr. Kumar Ebenezer, Principal of AHS graced the finale with his presence and presented the winners with the Certificates, Gifts & Medals were distributed. Dr. G. Kirubalan graced the occasion and co- ordinate to the tournament.

Students Council Activities (2020-2021)

PONGAL-2021
Students of CARE, celebrated one of our most important festivals called Uzhavar Thirunal/Pongal/Tamizhar Thirunal by conducting dance competition. The competition was conducted on 13th January between 02:00 pm and 04:00 pm in our grand Sigappi Achi auditorium in front of our honourable Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Dean. The program was a huge success, where forty students has participated in various types of dance, ending the day with winning prizes and hearts.

ETHNIC DAY CELEBRATIONS-2021
Ethnic Day was celebrated on February 4th to reconnect people with traditional and cultural roots and promote the true essence of age-old customs and traditions that have helped forged the different cultures in India. The students dressed up in their traditional dresses and participated in different types of events such as, flower rangoli, dance, singing, etc. The day was well celebrated as it helped the students to learn about different states, vast cultures under one roof.

OPEN HOUSE EXHIBITION- 2020
Matchsticks made into pillars. Staple pins evolved into towers. Shells turned into buildings. Cardboards came alive as humans. Candles disguised as cannons. And there was even more visual treat at the exhibition conducted by Chettinad School of Architecture (CSOA) on 7th Feb 2020.

Onam celebrations – 2020
The Student’s council wanted to exhibit unity in diversity, by celebrating the kerala’s very own festival, Onam in our university. Our kerala students also celebrated the same by wearing kerala traditional saree, and brining their recipes of their favorite festival foods. The rangoli competition was the highlight of the celebrations, as two judges were appointed to select the best rangoli and gave cash prize for the best rangoli.

DUSSHERA – 2020
For 2020 Dussehra, Students from MBBS, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Architecture and Law were glittered by the pleasant wonderful dresses. More than 300 students eagerly participated and enjoyed the occasion by maintaining high discipline. The event was filled with energy and students rocking dance performances western, fusion and kuthu styles, ending with soul nourishing foods.

Teachers’ day celebration – 2019
Teachers are the cornerstone of the student’s future. Students’ council organized Teacher’s day on 5th September 2019 to thank the teachers for their immense contribution and their hard work. Entertaining events for the faculty were conducted. The event ended with distribution of refreshments for all those present.

Dhandiya Ceremony – 2019
As a symbol of Unity among the students of the institute, Student’s council organized Dhandiya celebration on 4th October 2019.The delightful sight of energetic boys and girls swirling in graceful rhythmic Garba and enthusiastically playing Dhandiya induced admiration among all present there. Traditional Dandiya and Garba music and some peppy Bollywood songs kept everyone glued to the dance floor all throughout the evening till the very end of the event.

RUSH – 2019
Student’s council was a part of the organising team for national level intercollegiate sports meet “RUSH” from 10th to 12 October 2019. In the light of spirit, knowledge and life, the event was started with the lightening of Olympic torch. Students from various colleges actively participated in several track events, outdoor and indoor sports. The overall champions were felicitated with cash awards.

FUSION – 2019
As a part of the organizing team, Students council conducted a National level Inter Collegiate Cultural fest “FUSION” from 13th to 16th October 2019 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. Singer Benny Dayal, Celebrity Comedian Robo Shanker graced the occasion with their presence. Students competed in various events. The event ended with trophy distribution to the winners.

Pongal Celebration – 2019
Pongal is an ancient festival of people in South India particularly by Tamilians. Pongal celebration was organized by Students council on 13.01.2020. It was a meticulously planned and well organised celebration. Typical festival snacks stalls were present. Cultural events were conducted.

Pongal Celebration – 2018
Pongal, an occasion that is believed to chime in the wealth is a renowned as a thanksgiving festival for various Hindu deities. The celebration in the college was organized by the Students’ council on 12.01.2018. Cultural events depicting the Tamil Culture was performed by the students. Exquisite lunch was served with varieties of Pongal.

Teachers’ day Celebration – 2018
Teachers’ day was organized by the Students’ council on 05th September 2018 in College block 375 Auditorium. The day was marked with the entertaining performance from the students. The fun activities were also conducted for the faculty. As a token of appreciation, gifts were distributed to all the teachers.

IGNIS – 2018
Students’ council was a part of the organising team of the South India level Inter Collegiate Sports meet “IGNIS”. This event was organized from 9th to 11th October 2018. Students from various colleges participated with true sportsman spirit. Multitude of sport events were organised such as throw ball, basketball, Table tennis, Chess and much more. Trophies were distributed to the champions on the last day of the event. The event ended with Vote of thanks from the Student Council President.

FUSION – 2018
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team for the South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural festival “FUSION”. The event was conducted on 11th to 13th October 2018 in SigapiAachi Convention Center. Students from various colleges actively participated in all the on and off-stage events. Television Celebrity Anchor Erode Mahesh graced the event by his presence. Rs.1,00,00 was given to the overall winners on the last day of the event.

Diwali celebration – 2018
Students’ council organised Diwali celebration on 3rd November 2018. The festival of light and joy was conducted in the cricket ground with various fun filled events and firecracker show. Students enjoyed the eve with DJ music in the background and mouth-watering dinner.

Christmas celebration – 2018
Christmas, a festival which inspires the sharing and caring spirit was organised by the Students’ council on 24th December 2018. The campus was elegantly decorated in red. Cake cutting was done to celebrate the birth of Christ. The students sang melodious carols and the occasion was highlighted with the arrival of Santa Claus.

Ayutha Pooja Ceremony – 2017
Students’ Council organized Ayutha Pooja Ceremony on 17.10.2017 in College block. On this special day, the campus was beautified with plantain trees, mango leaves and glazing papers followed by a pooja in the presence of Vice Chairman. The remarkable part of this celebration was the mouth-watering sweets that were served for all the students and staff.

Diwali Celebration – 2017
The festival of lights was celebrated with full glee and gusto. Diwali, the most expected festival of the year was organised by the Students council on 17.10.2017. The festival of lights was celebrated at 7 pm in cricket ground. The acme of the occasion was the firecrackers show. On this special eve, a grand dinner with exotic dishes ranging from mouth lingering sweets to delicious deserts was served.

CHETFEST – 2017
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team in conducting Intra Collegiate Sports and Cultural meet CHETFEST. The sports meet was conducted on 23rd and 24th October 2017 in the Synthetic track, Sports Complex and Indoor stadium. Various Indoor and Outdoor sports events were organised as a part of the meet for the students and faculty. The cultural festival was conducted for 3 days from 25th to 27th October 2017. Students ardently participated in various events conducted. The events ended with the Trophy distribution for the winners.

Christmas Celebration – 2017
Christmas is the season of joy, greetings and gifts exchanged, and families getting united. The Christmas celebrations was organized by the college council in Administrative block on 22nd December 2017. The celebrations included a rhythmic performance from the staffs and students and an add-on surprise package by Santa Claus. The staff and students were completely spellbound with the Christmas gratification and the day was called off with sweet distribution.

IGNIS-2016
Students’ Council was a part of the organising team for South India level Intercollegiate Sports meet “IGNIS”. This 3-day event was conducted from 07.09.2016 to 09.09.2016.Colleges from different part of South India participated in the event. Various indoor and outdoor sports were conducted. Sports contested between the colleges include basketball, football, throw ball, table tennis and more. Colleges were awarded podium points based on their placing in each sport, which contributes to the overall sporting competition. The event was ended with Trophy distribution.

FUSION 2016:
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team for the South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival “FUSION.” The event was conducted from 12.09.2016 to 14.09.2016 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. The event was adorned by Celebrities like Actor AariArjunanand Actor Santhanam. Overwhelming number of colleges participated in this fest. Various events (onstage/offstage) were organised which brought out multitude talents of the students. The response received from various colleges and the feedback of the participants was positive which a great boost to the institution is. Overall, the event was well organized and successful.

Ayutha Pooja Celebrations – 2016
Saraswathi and Ayutha Pooja Ceremony was organised by Students’ Council on 10.10.2016 in College block. On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja, the students and faculty of came together to seek the blessings of the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. All the vehicles were cleaned and pooja was performed. The event ended with serving prasadham to all those present.

Diwali Celebration – 2016
On the auspicious festival of Diwali, our students’ council members luminated the campus by organizing various fun cultural activities on 27.10.2016 in cricket ground. Firecrackers illuminated the campus sky. The event was filled with happy smiles and laughs. DJ in the house gave a fitting finale to the event.

Fusion 2015 – South India Level Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival
Students’ Council was a part of the organizing team for South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural Competition “Fusion”. It was held for 3 days from 19.10.2015 to 21.10.2015 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. Actor Jeeva and Ashok Selvan graced the occasion. Many on-stage and off-stage events were conducted. Various colleges from all over South India participated in the competition. The event ended with trophy distribution for the winners.

Freshers’ day – 2015
Fresher’s day was celebrated on 24/10/2015 in 375 Auditorium, CARE for the students who were enrolled for the academic year 2015-16. The event started off with a lamp lighting ceremony by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Principal, CCN and college council members.
This was followed by welcome dance. The celebrations continued with some amazing dance, music and special talent performances by the second-year students.

Diwali Celebrations – 2015
Diwali- the festival of lights signifies the joy, peace and prosperity in the hearts of people, hurtling away their sorrows. The Students’ council organized the Diwali Celebration on 09.11.2015 at 7 pm in Cricket ground, CARE. Exhilarating activities such as fire crackers show, the picturesque painting of diyas and various fun games were conducted. The event ended with a DJ which brought a true festive atmosphere.

Rangoli Competition – 2015
Rangoli is a traditional form that brightens up any occasion. It is a harbinger of good luck.With this thought, the Students council conducted a Rangoli Competition among the students on 30.10.2015 in College block. The students of CHRI put up their best foot forward and took part in the competition with enthusiasm. Totally 12 group of students participated. The Rangoli was judged according to the colour pattern, theme and novelty. 1st place was bagged by Miss. Kusuma Lakshmi and team. All the students received Participation certificate.

FUSION 2022 – National level intercollegiate sports and cultural festivals

Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) hosted the “FUSION 2022” National level intercollegiate sports and cultural festivals from October 5th to October 13th, 2022. The function was kicked off by the Home Secretary. Dr. J Radhakrishnan, IAS, Principal Secretary for Co-operation, Food and Consumer Protection Department, Tamil Nadu, delivered the keynote presentation, emphasized the importance of student sports dedication. The winners received various attractive prizes at the end of the competition. The valedictory ceremony commenced at 7:00 p.m. Prof. Dr. Shantha Ravisankar, Vice Chancellor of CARE, and Dr. Sridhar, Dean of CHRI, were present at the finale and presented the winners with certificates, gifts, and medals. The competition was represented by 35 colleges. Chettinad Academy of Research and Education was awarded the overall sports competition. The overall sports runners-up were Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. The accommodation for the players, managers, coaches, and umpires was provided at no charge to them. During the competition, food was provided at no cost to all Technical Officials, Umpires, and Volunteers. The Tournament was organized by Dr. G. Kirubalan, Deputy Director, Physical Education.

Farewell function- Physiotherapy Students

Farewell Function of B.P.T (2019) and M.P.T(2021) was started at 09.00am on July 31, 2023 in Lecture Hall 5 which is organised by B.P.T (2020). The Master of ceremony of the programme Ms. Vaishnavi and Ms. Thrisha S.C welcomed Chief Guest Dr. Senthil. P, Dean, Chettinad School of Physiotherapy, CARE and all dignitaries. He explained the dilemmas which would be a barrier to the Physiotherapy profession how the students should prepare themselves for their future endeavors and wished them with his motivational speech, followed by fun games which were conducted by the juniors to the seniors such as Dance, Connections, finding a song from music and gifts exchange etc. Farewell is basically a get to gather kind of celebration for the seniors who will be soon steeping out of that particular institute. Hence juniors wish their seniors a good luck for their next big adventures in various forms like singing, dancing, with motivational speeches or by felicitating them. Later the final year students were asked to give their opinions about the institution and the staffs.

Onam Celebrations
The student council commemorated Onam celebration on 19.08.2021 at the Futsal Ground in the campus. The state of Kerala, Onam is traditionally celebrated for ten days in the month of Chingam, which marks the beginning of the Malayalam Calendar year. The festival was celebrated at CARE in its usual fervor and grandeur organized by Dr. Ahmed Basha. A, Professor, Dept. of Physiology, CHRI and Dr. Kirubalan, Sports Director, CARE. The Celebrations were marked by a diverse range of colourful and joyful events and games with the full participation of the Students, Staff and faculty members of CARE beautifully dressed up in traditional attire bringing the spirit and beauty of Onam to the campus. We arranged delicious Pradhaman Payasam, which is a traditional special dish for the Kerala people.

Farewell 2021 for nursing students
The program began with Tamizhthai vaazhthu, followed by Ms. Keerthana, 3rd year B.Sc Nursing delivered welcome address and the entertainment event began with welcome dance by Ms. Abitha and Ms.Shelciya Devakirubai, B.Sc Nursing, 3rd year, performed a very fantastic group dance. The Principal Dr. Hepsibah Sharmil.S, Madam, delivered the keynote address and motivated the students for their best future, followed by Prof. Ms.Subbulakshmi, Vice Principal delivered the special address and encouraged the final year students for their bright future. Ms. Ruksana Begam, Associate Professor and Ms.Sathya, Assistant Professor, Class Coordinators of B.Sc and Post Basic Nursing given feedback about the students. Followed by this, all the entertainment events started and the final year students given their feedback , followed by that, the Chettinad College of Nursing song has been sang and then to bring back the final years a collective sweet memories at the virtual video clips of final year students has been played. Finally, Mr. Jayasuriya, B.Sc nursing, 3rd year delivered the vote of thanks followed by National anthem was played and the program was ended with lots of joy and emotion. The overall program was mastered by Mr. Naraendraprasath and Ms.Jebamalar, B.Sc Nursing 3rd year students.

Teachers day
Teachers’ Day celebration was commemorated by Chettinad Academy of Research and Education on 06.09.21 at the Sigapi Aachi auditorium of the campus. The faculty from all schools and colleges of CARE along with the students attended the program. The event was presided over by Dr. Balasubramanian, Vice-Chancellor, CARE and Mrs. Jeyendra Saraswathi, Registrar, CARE. Dr. Pitchai Balashanmugam, Dean, CHRI were present during the occasion. The students from all colleges and schools wished their teachers on ‘my favorite teacher’ event. An interesting quiz competition was conducted for the faculty and fun games were played. This was followed by a talent show that included singing and dancing performance by the Students and faculty. The program ended with a vote of thanks and refreshments.

Dandiya night
Dandiya Night celebration was organized at Chettinad Academy of Research and Education in our campus on 12.10.2021. The celebration was full of dance, talent shows, DJ, food, music and fun. Students of all the constituent colleges of CARE participated in the event. The event was filled with diverse range of colourful dresses by the students and filled with full of energy. The students rocking dance performances western, fusion and kuthu styles. The kollattam dance was the highlight of the programme. More than 300 students danced with kollattam. The scintillating dancers expressed their talent on the stage and the impromptu dance performance off stage by other students made the event fun filled. Lip-smacking food including chat, snacks, sweets and lavish dinner was an additional highlight.

Chettinad Intra Collegiate Athletics Championship
Chettinad Intra Collegiate Athletic Championship 2021-22 was held at Synthetic track, Sarvalokaa school campus. The Athletic Meet was held on 24th & 25th February 2022 between 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Prof. Dr. Balasubramanian, Former Vice Chancellor of Chettinad Academy of Research & Education has inaugurated the Tournament and Ms. Ruchi, HOD in CSOL and Dr. Ebenezer, Principal of FAHS has graced the occasion. Dr. Shantha Ravisankar, Vice Chancellor of Chettinad Academy of Research & Education was the Chief Guest and she distributed the prizes, Trophies, Medals and certificates to the winners. There were 250 Students from different departments participated in the athletic championship. Chettinad College of Nursing has bagged overall athletic Championship winners. Mr. Magesh from the FAHS student was announced to be the athletic individual champion for the men section. Ms. Shanthi Priya from the FAHS student was announced to be the athletic individual champion for the women section. Dr. G. Kirubalan, Dy. Director of CARE and Chettinad School of Law students jointly to organized the Tournament.

CARE Classical Chess Championship -2021-22
CARE Classical Chess Championship, organized by the student council was held at Atrium, College block held on 16th June, 2022. It was held between 12 teams from various constitution colleges. It was a league tournament where the various intra CHC Students has participated The event was inaugurated by Dr. Arun Kumar, Vice Principal, CHRI These are the respective winners of the Tournament Winners of the tournament – Law / AHS team Runners-up of the tournament – MBBS team Dr. Kumar Ebenezer, Principal of AHS graced the finale with his presence and presented the winners with the Certificates, Gifts & Medals were distributed. Dr. G. Kirubalan graced the occasion and co- ordinate to the tournament.

PONGAL-2021
Students of CARE, celebrated one of our most important festivals called Uzhavar Thirunal/Pongal/Tamizhar Thirunal by conducting dance competition. The competition was conducted on 13th January between 02:00 pm and 04:00 pm in our grand Sigappi Achi auditorium in front of our honourable Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Dean. The program was a huge success, where forty students has participated in various types of dance, ending the day with winning prizes and hearts.

ETHNIC DAY CELEBRATIONS-2021
Ethnic Day was celebrated on February 4th to reconnect people with traditional and cultural roots and promote the true essence of age-old customs and traditions that have helped forged the different cultures in India. The students dressed up in their traditional dresses and participated in different types of events such as, flower rangoli, dance, singing, etc. The day was well celebrated as it helped the students to learn about different states, vast cultures under one roof.

OPEN HOUSE EXHIBITION- 2020
Matchsticks made into pillars. Staple pins evolved into towers. Shells turned into buildings. Cardboards came alive as humans. Candles disguised as cannons. And there was even more visual treat at the exhibition conducted by Chettinad School of Architecture (CSOA) on 7th Feb 2020.

Onam celebrations – 2020
The Student’s council wanted to exhibit unity in diversity, by celebrating the kerala’s very own festival, Onam in our university. Our kerala students also celebrated the same by wearing kerala traditional saree, and brining their recipes of their favorite festival foods. The rangoli competition was the highlight of the celebrations, as two judges were appointed to select the best rangoli and gave cash prize for the best rangoli.

DUSSHERA – 2020
For 2020 Dussehra, Students from MBBS, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Architecture and Law were glittered by the pleasant wonderful dresses. More than 300 students eagerly participated and enjoyed the occasion by maintaining high discipline. The event was filled with energy and students rocking dance performances western, fusion and kuthu styles, ending with soul nourishing foods.

Teachers’ day celebration – 2019
Teachers are the cornerstone of the student’s future. Students’ council organized Teacher’s day on 5th September 2019 to thank the teachers for their immense contribution and their hard work. Entertaining events for the faculty were conducted. The event ended with distribution of refreshments for all those present.

Dhandiya Ceremony – 2019
As a symbol of Unity among the students of the institute, Student’s council organized Dhandiya celebration on 4th October 2019.The delightful sight of energetic boys and girls swirling in graceful rhythmic Garba and enthusiastically playing Dhandiya induced admiration among all present there. Traditional Dandiya and Garba music and some peppy Bollywood songs kept everyone glued to the dance floor all throughout the evening till the very end of the event.

RUSH – 2019
Student’s council was a part of the organising team for national level intercollegiate sports meet “RUSH” from 10th to 12 October 2019. In the light of spirit, knowledge and life, the event was started with the lightening of Olympic torch. Students from various colleges actively participated in several track events, outdoor and indoor sports. The overall champions were felicitated with cash awards.

FUSION – 2019
As a part of the organizing team, Students council conducted a National level Inter Collegiate Cultural fest “FUSION” from 13th to 16th October 2019 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. Singer Benny Dayal, Celebrity Comedian Robo Shanker graced the occasion with their presence. Students competed in various events. The event ended with trophy distribution to the winners.

Pongal Celebration – 2019
Pongal is an ancient festival of people in South India particularly by Tamilians. Pongal celebration was organized by Students council on 13.01.2020. It was a meticulously planned and well organised celebration. Typical festival snacks stalls were present. Cultural events were conducted.

Pongal Celebration – 2018
Pongal, an occasion that is believed to chime in the wealth is a renowned as a thanksgiving festival for various Hindu deities. The celebration in the college was organized by the Students’ council on 12.01.2018. Cultural events depicting the Tamil Culture was performed by the students. Exquisite lunch was served with varieties of Pongal.

Teachers’ day Celebration – 2018
Teachers’ day was organized by the Students’ council on 05th September 2018 in College block 375 Auditorium. The day was marked with the entertaining performance from the students. The fun activities were also conducted for the faculty. As a token of appreciation, gifts were distributed to all the teachers.

IGNIS – 2018
Students’ council was a part of the organising team of the South India level Inter Collegiate Sports meet “IGNIS”. This event was organized from 9th to 11th October 2018. Students from various colleges participated with true sportsman spirit. Multitude of sport events were organised such as throw ball, basketball, Table tennis, Chess and much more. Trophies were distributed to the champions on the last day of the event. The event ended with Vote of thanks from the Student Council President.

FUSION – 2018
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team for the South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural festival “FUSION”. The event was conducted on 11th to 13th October 2018 in SigapiAachi Convention Center. Students from various colleges actively participated in all the on and off-stage events. Television Celebrity Anchor Erode Mahesh graced the event by his presence. Rs.1,00,00 was given to the overall winners on the last day of the event.

Diwali celebration – 2018
Students’ council organised Diwali celebration on 3rd November 2018. The festival of light and joy was conducted in the cricket ground with various fun filled events and firecracker show. Students enjoyed the eve with DJ music in the background and mouth-watering dinner.

Christmas celebration – 2018
Christmas, a festival which inspires the sharing and caring spirit was organised by the Students’ council on 24th December 2018. The campus was elegantly decorated in red. Cake cutting was done to celebrate the birth of Christ. The students sang melodious carols and the occasion was highlighted with the arrival of Santa Claus.

Ayutha Pooja Ceremony – 2017
Students’ Council organized Ayutha Pooja Ceremony on 17.10.2017 in College block. On this special day, the campus was beautified with plantain trees, mango leaves and glazing papers followed by a pooja in the presence of Vice Chairman. The remarkable part of this celebration was the mouth-watering sweets that were served for all the students and staff.

Diwali Celebration – 2017
The festival of lights was celebrated with full glee and gusto. Diwali, the most expected festival of the year was organised by the Students council on 17.10.2017. The festival of lights was celebrated at 7 pm in cricket ground. The acme of the occasion was the firecrackers show. On this special eve, a grand dinner with exotic dishes ranging from mouth lingering sweets to delicious deserts was served.

CHETFEST – 2017
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team in conducting Intra Collegiate Sports and Cultural meet CHETFEST. The sports meet was conducted on 23rd and 24th October 2017 in the Synthetic track, Sports Complex and Indoor stadium. Various Indoor and Outdoor sports events were organised as a part of the meet for the students and faculty. The cultural festival was conducted for 3 days from 25th to 27th October 2017. Students ardently participated in various events conducted. The events ended with the Trophy distribution for the winners.

Christmas Celebration – 2017
Christmas is the season of joy, greetings and gifts exchanged, and families getting united. The Christmas celebrations was organized by the college council in Administrative block on 22nd December 2017. The celebrations included a rhythmic performance from the staffs and students and an add-on surprise package by Santa Claus. The staff and students were completely spellbound with the Christmas gratification and the day was called off with sweet distribution.

IGNIS-2016
Students’ Council was a part of the organising team for South India level Intercollegiate Sports meet “IGNIS”. This 3-day event was conducted from 07.09.2016 to 09.09.2016.Colleges from different part of South India participated in the event. Various indoor and outdoor sports were conducted. Sports contested between the colleges include basketball, football, throw ball, table tennis and more. Colleges were awarded podium points based on their placing in each sport, which contributes to the overall sporting competition. The event was ended with Trophy distribution.

FUSION 2016:
Students’ council was a part of the organizing team for the South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival “FUSION.” The event was conducted from 12.09.2016 to 14.09.2016 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. The event was adorned by Celebrities like Actor AariArjunanand Actor Santhanam. Overwhelming number of colleges participated in this fest. Various events (onstage/offstage) were organised which brought out multitude talents of the students. The response received from various colleges and the feedback of the participants was positive which a great boost to the institution is. Overall, the event was well organized and successful.

Ayutha Pooja Celebrations – 2016
Saraswathi and Ayutha Pooja Ceremony was organised by Students’ Council on 10.10.2016 in College block. On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja, the students and faculty of came together to seek the blessings of the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture. All the vehicles were cleaned and pooja was performed. The event ended with serving prasadham to all those present.

Diwali Celebration – 2016
On the auspicious festival of Diwali, our students’ council members luminated the campus by organizing various fun cultural activities on 27.10.2016 in cricket ground. Firecrackers illuminated the campus sky. The event was filled with happy smiles and laughs. DJ in the house gave a fitting finale to the event.

Fusion 2015 – South India Level Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival
Students’ Council was a part of the organizing team for South India level Inter Collegiate Cultural Competition “Fusion”. It was held for 3 days from 19.10.2015 to 21.10.2015 in Sigapi Achi Convention Center. Actor Jeeva and Ashok Selvan graced the occasion. Many on-stage and off-stage events were conducted. Various colleges from all over South India participated in the competition. The event ended with trophy distribution for the winners.

Freshers’ day – 2015
Fresher’s day was celebrated on 24/10/2015 in 375 Auditorium, CARE for the students who were enrolled for the academic year 2015-16. The event started off with a lamp lighting ceremony by the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Principal, CCN and college council members.
This was followed by welcome dance. The celebrations continued with some amazing dance, music and special talent performances by the second-year students.

Diwali Celebrations – 2015
Diwali- the festival of lights signifies the joy, peace and prosperity in the hearts of people, hurtling away their sorrows. The Students’ council organized the Diwali Celebration on 09.11.2015 at 7 pm in Cricket ground, CARE. Exhilarating activities such as fire crackers show, the picturesque painting of diyas and various fun games were conducted. The event ended with a DJ which brought a true festive atmosphere.

Rangoli Competition – 2015
Rangoli is a traditional form that brightens up any occasion. It is a harbinger of good luck.With this thought, the Students council conducted a Rangoli Competition among the students on 30.10.2015 in College block. The students of CHRI put up their best foot forward and took part in the competition with enthusiasm. Totally 12 group of students participated. The Rangoli was judged according to the colour pattern, theme and novelty. 1st place was bagged by Miss. Kusuma Lakshmi and team. All the students received Participation certificate.
