Chettinad Simulation & Skill Centre (CSSC)
Our CSSC has a safe and protected environment that provides a potential benefit for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and medical staff to practice clinical skills before practicing them in real-time clinical settings.
CSSC bridge the gap between the classroom and clinical settings, decrease students’ anxiety and ensure all students acquire the necessary skills and techniques and are properly assessed before practicing on patients

High Fidelity Simulation
Our CSSC provides realistic, accurate, real-time medical simulation. We allow participants to develop skill sets in a safe, controlled environment away from the clinical setting by providing computer-generated scenarios, simulating real life acute medical conditions. We currently have high-fidelity adult, pediatric, and neonatal mannequins to help develop practical knowledge.
Procedures in our CSSC
As per NMC guidelines, customized standard protocol-based scenarios with due stress on complete participation and hands-on practice for continuous skills training and improvement of participants in the following areas before moving to actual procedures. We also focus on clinical and behavioral aspects of performance, focusing on crisis management and error prevention.
- Patient assessment
- Simulated clinical situations – Respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Acute airway emergencies
- Code blue training
- Ventilator care
- Conduction of delivery
- Episiotomy
